Q: What if I am apprehensive about coming to a gym because I am not in great shape?

A: We hear this from everyone! Another thing we hear from everyone after their first session is “you really made me feel comfortable”. Honestly, don’t get all worked up over this one, it is a relaxed and laid back facility. There are only a few people in here at a given time, and they are like you, trying to get back into shape.

Q: I am a woman and do not want to look like a bodybuilder. Can you put me on the right program?

A: A large percentage of our clientele are women with the same concerns. While we are very familiar with bodybuilding principles, we only use them with people who want to become more muscular.

Q: How often do I have to come to Sensible Fitness?

A: Together, we will decide how many days per week you need to exercise to reach your fitness goals. From there, you decide how often you would like to come to us. While we have numerous clients that have been with us for 10+ years, others visit us 2-3X per week for 3-6 months to develop good exercise habits and then feel comfortable trying it on their own. Still others might come 1X per week to check in and stay motivated, and do a couple other workouts on their own each week. And then we have people that come in for 1-2 visits to learn what to do on their own and we never see them again. The choice is yours! Unlike other personal training facilities, we do not pressure you to make long-term commitments.

Q: What are your hours?

A: Everything is by appointment at Sensible Fitness and thus we have no set hours. You tell us what time you want to be here, and I match your request with a trainer. You will learn quickly once you start, that we cater everything around you!

Q: What happens if I have to cancel with short notice?

A: You are never charged for a session at Sensible Fitness without being given the opportunity to make up your workout.

Q: What do I wear?

A: Wear whatever makes you comfortable. Our facility is a relaxed environment, and people are not dressing to impress. Most clients wear shorts or sweat pants with a t-shirt.

Q: How long is each session?

A: Personal training sessions are 55-minutes long.

Q: What will I do at each session?

A: That will be determined by your fitness goal, as everything we do is customized to each person. As a general rule, we will include strength training to increase your muscle tone and metabolism, and cardio can be added to burn fat. Some people perform cardio on their own at home and thus do not have to do it here. During your session, you may visit with your trainer about healthy eating habits or other important aspects of your success.
