A letter from Doug….

I realized that there was a huge hole in the personal training market in the mid-90s. So many “certified” trainers with limited knowledge, so many coaches still using training techniques from the 60s when they were in sports, and very few truly knowledgeable professionals. Surprisingly, it this is still widespread today.

At that time, I had been active in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years coupled with the experience of not only years of competitive bodybuilding but also years of clinical experience in Physical Therapy. It was then, while I was treating physical therapy patients, that I realized what my “calling” was.

I opened my own Sensible Fitness facility in 1996, and shortly after launched my award winning television program. I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others by giving them accurate and honest information in a format that could be easily understood. I have been blessed with this ability and am thankful.

Since opening Sensible Fitness, my on-going goal has been to educate and motivate. I have helped thousands through the television program, thousands through Jewish Hospital’s Weight Management Program and thousands through personal visits to the Sensible Fitness facility. I continue to reach out to the women and children of Cincinnati with dedicated TV segments and Women's Health articles in a local women's on-line magazine.

I plan to continue my quest of making success stories out of people, as it is very rewarding for me to make such an incredible impact on the lives of others.
