I have successfully produced a queen in one of my swarm hives. Although I have not seen her yet, I have spotted hundreds of eggs, which is evidence enough. I could have kept searching for her, but this does disrupt the hive a great deal and actually seeing her does not benefit or change anything.

From this point on, I will be checking for evidence of active queens in all the hives and also adding additional layers, called honey supers, to the hive to insure they do not get overcrowded. This fall I hope to harvest honey, but only if there is plenty for them to survive the winter.
